Corsair Unleashes the Novablade Pro Fighting Controller

Corsair has just thrown down the gauntlet in the fighting game arena with the launch of their new Novablade Pro all-button controller. Built for both professional players and those looking to level up their game, this controller is all about speed and reliability, packing its super-fast MGX Hyperdrive magnetic switches into a sleek, tournament-ready package.

Novablade Pro: The Magnetic Edge

The core of the Novablade Pro is its responsiveness, largely thanks to those MGX Hyperdrive magnetic switches. These aren’t just your standard key switches; they offer an adjustable actuation point from a tiny 0.1 mm all the way up to 4 mm, giving you granular control over how your inputs register. Plus, they come with Rapid Trigger technology, which resets keys quicker than standard switches, potentially shaving off those crucial milliseconds in intense match-ups.

Corsair clearly built this controller to last, too, rating the switches for an impressive 150 million key presses.

Key Features at a Glance:

  • 15 adjustable magnetic keys for clean, precise inputs.
  • Ultra-responsive MGX Hyperdrive magnetic switches.
  • Adjustable actuation points from 0.1 mm to 4 mm.
  • Rapid Trigger technology for faster key resets.
  • Corsair FlashTap SOCD technology for enhanced directional prioritisation and tournament compliance.
  • Tri-mode connectivity: low-latency 2.4 GHz wireless, Bluetooth, and wired options.
  • Game Mode is used to deactivate G-keys and touchpads for tournament play.
  • 360° RGB LightEdge and 15 individually lit keys for customisation.
  • Removable aluminium top plate for further personalisation.
  • Compatible with PS5, PS4 consoles, and PC.
  • On-board memory for up to 5 profiles.

What Corsair Thinks

It’s clear that Corsair is confident this is a real game-changer for the genre. Tobias Brinkmann, Vice President and General Manager of Gaming Peripherals, highlighted the drive behind the design:

“With gamers demanding faster, more responsive inputs, building a controller that utilises our fastest, most responsive switches was an obvious play,” said Tobias Brinkmann, Vice President and General Manager of Gaming Peripherals. “The Novablade Pro is a leap in input innovation, fusing MGX Hyperdrive magnetic switches with cutting-edge performance features like Rapid Trigger and FlashTap. For both fighting game professionals and aspiring players aiming for the top, chasing precise timing windows that last mere milliseconds are key – and Novablade Pro has the features they need for their pursuit of reliable frame perfection.”

Tournament Ready

Beyond just the switches, the Novablade Pro comes equipped with features for the competitive circuit. The integrated Corsair FlashTap SOCD technology gives players full control over their directional inputs, with enhanced SOCD prioritisation and cleaning for tournament compliance. To ensure you don’t accidentally pause or disqualify yourself, the dedicated Game Mode activates Rapid Trigger while deactivating the G-keys and touchpad.

The design is compact, with a premium build and all-button layout that makes it easy to safely transport to tournaments and meet-ups. Connectivity is flexible, offering low-latency 2.4 GHz wireless and Bluetooth alongside a wired mode for reliable connections in any scenario.

And for those who like a bit of flash, the controller features a 360° RGB LightEdge and 15 individually lit keys—perfect for setting up your own personalised “ring walk” as you prepare to compete. Users can also program the 8 G-keys and save up to 5 profiles to the on-board memory.

Where to Buy

The Novablade Pro is available immediately from the Corsair Webstore. It will be launching soon at Corsair’s network of authorised online retailers and distributors worldwide, such as Amazon.
