Cougar Launches its VTK Series of Power Supplies

Cougar has always represented something of a popular brand when it comes to quality products at a wallet-friendly price. And with the launch of their new VTK series, this would certainly appear to be a new power supply range that looks to tick many the right boxes for the savvy tech consumer. While you shouldn’t expect too many bells and whistles here, what these PSUs do provide certainly looks more than a little impressive when compared to other ‘entry-level’ models.

Featuring main Japanese capacitors, an 80-Plus Bronze efficiency rating, and wattage outputs from 400w all the way up to 550w it would appear that while Cougar is undoubtedly marketing the VTK series as a budget option, they haven’t skimped out on providing consumers with all of the features a ‘good’ power supply should carry.

Yes, it’s not modular, or even semi-modular, and, by proxy, the cables do come pre-attached to the power supply. A factor which is always something of a moderate bummer to some consumers. With everything else looking so good, however, if you’re on the hunt for a new inexpensive PSU, this could well be worth a look!

Where Can I Learn More?

At the time of writing, Cougar has not confirmed any prices for their new VTK series of power supplies nor how much we can expect them to cost when they do hit retailers. However, in regards to the former, we would be amazed if even the ‘top-spec’ 550w model cost more than £60. Regarding the latter, with the official website being live, we would expect these new PSUs to become available within the next few weeks.
