Creative Pebble V3 2.0 Speakers Review

How Much Does it Cost?

The Creative Pebble V3 USB-C Speakers are available right now from Amazon for a rather fantastic £34.99. They’re even available for same day delivery in a lot of areas too via Prime, so you wouldn’t have to wait long for them! If you just need something that looks good, the V2 are only £24.99, and the original Pebbles are just £22.99. However, I would pay the extra for the V3, they’re much more powerful. I didn’t get to test the 2.1 version, but I did find the speaker could do with more bass at lower volumes and at just £37.99 I suggest you get this version if you have room for the subwoofer.

Overview

I have to be honest, these aren’t the right speakers for me and I’ll be happily holding onto my Creative T20s for a while longer yet. Perhaps we’ll see some T30s or something in the coming years. At £69.99 they’re nearly impossible to beat.

However, the same is true of the Creative Pebble V3 and their £34.99 price tag. Around that price, you’re looking at a lot of glitzy plastic RGB garbage, a sea of no-name one off import brands that aren’t worth the plastic they’re stamped from. While the V3 didn’t light my world on fire with their performance, they’re still crushing the competition for this price range.

If you’re looking for some daily work and media PC speakers for a bit of YouTube, some gaming, a few Zoom calls… the V3 are a no brainer. You’re not going to find a better looking, better made or better sounding set of speakers short of spending twice as much money.

Connectivity is really its strong point too, offering up native USB-C connectivity. They’re backwards compatible with USB 2.0 ports, however, if you connect them to a modern 10w USB port or power adapter, you’ll literally get a lot more power from the drivers, giving you more bass and volume overall. Plus, with AUX in and Bluetooth connectivity you can pair just about any audio device with these speakers and that’s fantastic.

Should I Buy Them?

Tired of having to rely on your headphones, or those pathetic laptop and monitor speakers? The Creative Pebble V3 are a huge upgrade for your desktop audio, and they’ll work with your mobile phone, PC, laptop and more. Not only that, but they look stunning too, which is something other speakers in this price range often fail at.

As a child still in my 30's (but not for long), I spend my day combining my love of music and movies with a life-long passion for gaming, from arcade classics and retro consoles to the latest high-end PC and console games. So it's no wonder I write about tech and test the latest hardware while I enjoy my hobbies!
