Crucial 32GB 2133MHz Quad Channel DDR4 Review

Final Thoughts

Pricing (accurate at the time of writing)

In the UK the Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133MHz kit can be had for £329.99 at Overclockers while in the USA it can be had for $408.99 at Newegg. This Crucial memory product comes with a lifetime warranty.

Summary

There’s no denying that Crucial’s DDR4 memory line is very expensive compared to equivalent capacity and frequency DDR3 kits. There’s also no denying this memory modules are hardly “lookers” in any sense of the word. However, if we look at DDR4 prices we can see that the Crucial 32GB kit is easily the cheapest kit on the market. Yet that low cost doesn’t detract from its performance or stability. These modules perform well at stock and even better when being overclocked and at all times everything was nice and stable. It’s hard to say too much about these modules because memory is memory but they perform well, are cost effective and have the peace-of-mind of a lifetime warranty. We look forward to Crucial releasing some more exciting looking DDR4 kits in the near future under their Ballistix range, hopefully these will come with faster frequencies and nicer designs. However, these kits still do the job fine. If you want a cheap and reliable entry into the world of DDR4 then you need not look any further than Crucial’s offerings.

Pros

  • Competitive pricing
  • Good overclocking headroom
  • Lifetime warranty

Cons

  • Boring aesthetics
  • Limited selection of frequencies

“If you’re looking to venture into the world of DDR4 then it need not be as expensive as you think. Crucial’s Premium Memory range offers an affordable path to the next generation of memory products. Stability, reliability and overclockability have come along for the ride too.”

    1. That is impressive, but 1.5 volts is a lot for DDR4! Also his 3333MHz is done with a single module. Only the 2666 + 3000 are done in quad channel, but yes I agree – very good results he must be a very skilled guy.
