Cyberpunk 2077 Might Get Another Expansion After Phantom Liberty
After the impressive tech demo for The Witcher 4 that left everyone amazed, CD Projekt RED is back in the spotlight. It seems that the Polish developer might not be done with Cyberpunk 2077 just yet, and there could be one last big surprise in the works.
Virtuos Studio May Be Working on a New DLC for Cyberpunk 2077
Virtuos, the studio that helped CD Projekt Red with Cyberpunk 2077’s 2.2 update, might be working on a new downloadable content (DLC) for the game. A Reddit user (thanks ResetEra), u/Free_Carpenter151, found a LinkedIn profile of a Virtuos writer that listed “Cyberpunk 2077 DLC” as their current project since April 2025.
The job description mentioned writing new dialogue for existing characters and creating new side missions, while keeping the original narrative style of the game. Although the profile was quickly updated and the listing removed, fans are still hopeful that this could be a second expansion for the game.
Speculation about a second expansion is also fueled by previous hints dropped by CD Projekt Red itself. In a live stream in December 2024, the company hinted at “possible new content,” and in April 2025, a mysterious tweet referred to “six encrypted characters.” Some fans believe this could mean the addition of smaller mission packs, like the free DLC 1.6, instead of a large expansion like Phantom Liberty. It’s possible that more details could be revealed during the Summer Game Fest 2025.
