D-Link, a major name in networking kits, has just lifted the curtain on its latest additions to the Wi-Fi world: the AQUILA PRO AI M36 BE3600 Wi-Fi 7 Smart Mesh Router and the AQUILA PRO AI R36 BE3600 Wi-Fi 7 Smart Router.
With more people than ever working from home, streaming non-stop 4K content, and filling their houses with smart gadgets, the demand for fast, rock-solid internet is huge. D-Link’s new Wi-Fi 7 line-up promises to deliver secure, easy-to-manage, and future-proof networks for homes and small businesses.
Powered by Wi-Fi 7
These new routers are packing the very latest dual-band Wi-Fi 7 technology (covering 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz). They feature some cutting-edge tech that should make your network noticeably quicker and more efficient.
Key features and technology include:
- Multi-Link Operation (MLO): This smart tech allows the router to transmit data across different bands simultaneously, helping to minimise congestion and boost reliability.
- Wider 160 MHz Channels: Wider channels mean more bandwidth for faster data transfer.
- Advanced 4K-QAM Modulation: This allows for a much higher density of data transfer, delivering significantly faster speeds and lower latency.
- 2.5G WAN and LAN Ports: Plenty of fast wired connectivity for things like your gaming PC or network-attached storage (NAS).
- AI Wi-Fi Traffic Management: Intelligent bandwidth allocation to stop your downloads from wrecking your online gaming.
- WPA3 Encryption and Parental Controls: Keeping your network and your kids safer.
- AQUILA PRO AI App: Provides intuitive setup, monitoring, and customisation.
AQUILA PRO AI M36 BE3600 Wi-Fi 7 Smart Mesh Router
The M36 is designed to give you coverage everywhere. It’s built to be the heart of a whole-home mesh network, helping you get rid of those annoying dead zones. Its design is pretty slick, too.
The main focus of the M36 is on comprehensive coverage and style. D-Link says the design is inspired by “the elegance of an eagle in flight,” featuring a curved form, integrated wing-like antennas, and a feather-patterned ventilation system.
- Mesh Network: Engineered for whole-home coverage.
- 360° Spherical Coverage: Built-in omnidirectional antennas aim to eliminate dead zones.
- MLO Mesh Support: Strengthens the connection between routers and devices for seamless connectivity.
- Aesthetics: Sleek, refined, and eagle-inspired design.
AQUILA PRO AI R36 BE3600 Wi-Fi 7 Smart Router
If you’re after raw performance and coverage, the R36 steps up to the plate. It’s built for those homes that are packed with wireless devices, 4K streaming, and gaming.
The R36 is a beast for demanding environments. Its four external high-gain antennas are designed to push stronger signals and wider coverage, even in properties with lots of walls and obstacles that usually block Wi-Fi.
- Powerful Performance: Designed to handle gaming, 4K streaming, and loads of IoT devices.
- Stronger Signals: Features four external high-gain antennas for extended coverage.
- MLO Support: Ensures seamless, low-latency performance for every device.
What We Think
The shift to Wi-Fi 7 is exciting, especially with features like Multi-Link Operation that genuinely sound like they’ll help reduce the typical congestion we all face with busy home networks. The addition of 2.5G WAN and LAN ports on both models is a brilliant touch, future-proofing your network for faster broadband connections and speedy local file transfers.
The M36’s focus on aesthetics and mesh networking makes it a great choice for modern smart homes where you want your tech to look good. On the flip side, the R36, with its chunky external antennas, looks like the clear choice for gamers and those needing maximum range. These new AQUILA PRO AI routers look set to deliver the kind of speed and intelligence needed to keep up with today’s bandwidth-hungry digital lifestyles.
