Daily Forum Activity: Violent video games lead to aggression?

It is a common conception than video games of a violent nature such as Grand Theft Auto IV, Call of Duty, Manhunt, increase the likelihood of users being aggressive in real life. Having exposure to violence apparently causes a ‘normalisation’ of violent behaviour meaning it is less likely to shock you in real life and you are more likely to do it. But how far do you agree this is the case?

Do violent video games really cause aggression, or do violent people just play video games?

Are they a good way of letting off steam?
