Dane-Elec have today introduced a new line of “Sport” USB flash drives utilising the USB 3.0 interface. Dane-Elec are offering these “Sport” USB 3.0 flash drives in a variety of colour and storage size options:
Read and write speeds are impressive but by no means max out the USB 3.0 interface which has 5Gb/s of bandwidth. Read speeds are 80MB/s whilst write speeds are 10MB/s on the 8GB model, 20MB/s on the 16GB model and 30MB/s on the 32GB model. Read speeds of 80MB/s mean on average you’re getting about a 400% increase in speed over USB 2.0 flash drives which typically provided a maximum read of 20MB/s.
Dane-Elec is offering these drives with a 5 year warranty and they will available on Amazon.com by the end of this month.
