Dark Souls 2 Suffering Mass Downvotes on Steam

Acclaimed video game Dark Souls 2 is getting a suped-up re-release next year, entitled Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin, for next-gen consoles and PC. Great news, except to PC users who already own the game.

Bandai Namco claim the new home computer version will “take advantage of the power of DirectX11 PCs”, but knowledgeable Steam users know that their PCs were already capable of running the new version, and they’re not happy.

In retaliation, Steam users have embarked on a campaign of mass downvoting on the forthcoming game’s page.

Essentially, instead of upgrading the game for existing owners, Bandai Namco is trying to charge them again for the same game. Maybe the company has been taking lessons from Ubisoft.
