DDR5 RAM Prices Reach Record Highs in Germany as Memory Crisis Gets Worse
The PC hardware market is facing another major challenge as DDR5 memory prices continue to rise. According to the latest data collected by 3DCenter from several German retailers, DDR5 RAM has reached its highest price level ever.
In July, DDR5 memory prices were 448% higher than they were in July 2025. That means buying these memory modules now costs almost four and a half times more than it did just one year ago.
DDR5 Memory Prices Continue to Surge Across Germany
The first months of the year, especially January and February, already showed very high prices, with increases of up to 440%. After a small improvement, prices dropped slightly to 419% in June. However, July set a new record with another monthly increase of nearly 7%.
The price increases are affecting almost every DDR5 memory option on the market, including 8 GB, 16 GB, 24 GB, 32 GB, and 48 GB kits.
Unlike previous periods, when only certain high-end memory kits became more expensive, the current price surge is affecting nearly all DDR5 products. Among the hardest-hit models are 2×16 GB DDR5-6000 CL28 and 2×16 GB DDR5-7200+ kits, which increased in price by between 16% and 17% in just one month. Only a few products, such as some 2×48 GB kits, have avoided these large increases.
As a result, building a new PC or upgrading an existing one is now much more expensive than it was a year ago. At the moment, there are no signs that DDR5 memory prices will fall again in the short term.
