Death Stranding 2: On the Beach Has Already Been Rated for PC
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach has already been rated for PC, just five months after the PS5 version’s release. This time, however, there’s a new development that could lead to a faster launch on Windows.
The classification details for the second chapter of Hideo Kojima’s saga show Sony Interactive Entertainment listed as the publisher instead of 505 Games, which was responsible for the PC versions of Death Stranding and Death Stranding: Director’s Cut.
This is not a small detail. For the first game, players had to wait until the PlayStation exclusivity deal ended before the PC release. But since Sony itself is the publisher for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, the game might not face the same limitations.
If that’s the case, anything is possible — we might even see an announcement soon for the PC version, perhaps during The Game Awards ceremony happening in a few days, or maybe even an unexpected shadow drop.
Game Rating Details
According to the ESRB classification, the product description is similar to what was seen for the PS5 edition, rated M for Mature 17+ due to “Blood and Gore, Partial Nudity, Strong Language, and Violence.”
“This is an action game in which players assume the role of a courier (Sam Porter Bridges) attempting to reconnect society in a post-apocalyptic world,” reads the document. “From a third-person perspective, players traverse an open-world landscape to deliver various goods and packages.”
“Along the way, players can engage in combat against human soldiers, battle androids, and ghostly apparitions. Players use melee weapons (e.g., battle guitar) and firearms (e.g., machine guns, sniper rifles) to kill enemies. Players also employ stealth takedowns to incapacitate soldiers discreetly.”
In other news, British users are using Death Stranding’s Sam Porter Bridges to bypass new UK age-check laws on adult sites, exploiting Discord’s face verification system in an unusual loophole.
