Exterior Packaging

DeepCool has certainly taken a pretty hefty deviation away from their usual packaging style. Gone are the bright green colours and instead we have what is a rather plain, but certainly pleasant design. We get a nice clear image of the cooler on the white sleeve, and, on the whole, I think this new presentation is probably a wise move and certainly an improvement on what DeepCool had before. Albeit, I would not discount the possibility that this has done either as a cost-saving measure or perhaps due to the overall cardboard shortage seen around the world at the moment.

Sadly, the rear of the packaging is nowhere near as imposing as the front. A poor choice of colour contrast really makes the writing difficult to read. And even then, the only real information provided here is a rather bland production description. – While I think the packaging is, on the whole, more visually appealing, I would like to see DeepCool expand upon this in future launches to really get the most out of it.

Accessories!

The accessories for the DeepCool AK620 are fairly standard. You get a product manual, the mounting kit (for both Intel and AMD) as well as a small (but more than enough for a second go) amount of thermal compound. DeepCool does, however, win some points with me for providing you with a splitter cable for the two fans provided with this CPU cooler. For better or worse though, we have a screwdriver provided in the packaging. Now, in my experience, this is generally only provided when the mounting system is a little complicated. Is it though? Well, you’ll have to keep reading this review to find out!
