The packaging for the DeepCool AS500 certainly presents itself well with it going big and bold with a nice clear view of the cooler front and center. Admittedly, and knowing what they look like in advance, I’m a little surprised that DeepCool didn’t choose to highlight the RGB aspect a little more, but in terms of knowing what you’re getting, this has you covered at a glance.
In terms of the rest of the box work, I’m afraid it’s a little bit drab. While you are given features and specifications, the information is remarkably small and, with white on grey, it isn’t particularly easy on the eye either. On the whole, however, it is about ‘average’ from what we usually see.
DeepCool provides you with everything out of the box (sans a screwdriver) to successfully install this cooler onto the notably large amount of socket types it supports. While many of the parts are fairly standard (in terms of fitting it to your CPU) we should note that DeepCool has made the very wise decision of supplying the AS500 with a manual RGB lighting controller. In other words, if you don’t have a sync capable motherboard, don’t worry. You can still successfully hook this up and have all that lighting razzle-dazzle in action!
