DeepCool Macube 550 PC Case Review

How Much Does it Cost?

The DeepCool Macube 550 is currently available for £109.99 in the UK and just $109.99 in the US. That’s a pretty fair price for what you get, especially given the size, weight and overall construction of the case. There are “cheaper” deals out there on rival brands, but you really get what you pay for. The Macube 550 is built like a tank, and I think it justifies the slightly higher price tag with that alone.

Overview

There’s a lot to love about the Macube 550. I think DeepCool has done a fantastic job of keeping things incredibly simple, but still keeping the level of features really high. From the outside, it’s very simple looking. The clean design means it’ll blend into almost any environment. Stick it in the office, it’ll look right at home. Put it in a games room packed full of RGB (if you want), and it’ll suit that too. Speaking of RGB, there isn’t any out of the box. I love that about it. It’s dark, it’s bold and mysterious. If you want RGB everywhere, you’re hardly short of alternative cases anyway.

Features

Clean and simple on the outside, but it’s all business on the interior. Dual mounts in the front for huge radiators and banks of fans is very welcome. Plus, you can get extra fans in the base and the rear if required. There are good quality dust filters where they’re needed too. Plus, that side panel cooling mount looks superb; both inside and out.

Some of the other little details make a big impact too. The completely tool-free glass panel, with magnetic locking and an aluminium handle, is amazing. Plus, the heavily tinted glass looks pretty slick too. GamerStorm green coloured USB ports look superb; the devil is in the details. Plus, you got fully modular storage, the PSU shroud, amazing cable management, a vertical GPU mount, etc. Albeit, you do need your own riser cable, but they’re not hard to purchase separately.

Should I Buy One?

DeepCool has gone all out on quality here. It’s a robust-looking PC case that really is robust inside and out. It’s blacked out, heavily tinted look is super clean and with no RGB in sight, it’s a stealth fighter in the sea of rainbows that is today’s PC market. I can see this one being a big hit with the enthusiast PC builders out there.
