Dell is present at CES 2018 to announce several new products in their portfolio. Among these are a new pair of Ultrathin monitors boasting HDR panels. The S2719DM and the S2419HM provide 27-inch and 23.8-inch diagonal screenspace while only 29mm thick at the most, and only 5.5mm at the thinnest parts. Both also feature a nearly borderless InfinityEdge design with very thin bezels. Both use an In-plane Switching Panel which is able to accurately reproduce >99% sRGB color space. This also provides a 178-degree viewing angle.
Aside from the size, the two differ in resolutions. The Dell S2419HM supports resolutions up to 1920 x 1080, while the S2719DM supports 2560 x 1440 QHD standard. The larger unit carries a DisplayHDR 400 certification with a peak brightness of 600 nits. This is superior to the 400 nits of previous Dell IPS monitors. Both monitors support HDR-content playback capabilities through CinemaColor for a striking visual experience. Providing users relief from eye-strain, the pair also features Dell’s Comfortview technology. This includes a reduction of blue light emission and a flicker-free screen.
Both Ultrathin IPS monitors will be available before the end of the month, around January 30, 2018. The full-HD S2419HM has an MSRP of $299.99, while the larger S2719DM costs $499.99.
