Detroit: Become Human Surpasses Another Major Sales Milestone
The French game studio Quantic Dream has announced that its cyberpunk neo-noir adventure Detroit: Become Human has now sold over 15 million copies worldwide. This is an impressive result, especially considering that it’s a narrative-driven game — a genre that typically appeals to a niche audience — and that it’s available only on PlayStation consoles and PC.
Not all of these copies were sold at full price, of course. Detroit: Become Human often sees deep discounts, making it available for just a few dollars during sales. Still, sales are sales — and this milestone shows that many players continue to find the game engaging, even though it was first released back in 2018.
A Global Success for Quantic Dream
“We are proud to announce that Detroit: Become Human™ has surpassed 15 million units sold worldwide,” Quantic Dream shared in a recent update posted on its LinkedIn page.
Since its release in 2018, the title has become Quantic Dream’s best-selling game to date, recognized globally for its ambitious narrative design, impactful player choice, and exploration of complex, human-centered themes.
The studio wrote: “This milestone reflects the dedication of our teams and the continued support of players around the world. We extend our sincere thanks to our community and partners who have contributed to the lasting success of Detroit: Become Human™.”
Currently, Quantic Dream is reportedly working on a new narrative adventure set in the Star Wars universe, titled Star Wars Eclipse. However, little has been heard about the project since its official announcement, leaving fans uncertain about its development progress.
Regardless of what’s next, Detroit: Become Human continues to prove that story-driven games — when done well — can achieve remarkable long-term success and connect deeply with audiences worldwide.
