DinoPC is one of the UK’s leading system builders with a huge repertoire of innovative creations to suit varying tastes and budgets. The company’s custom skins add a special touch to mass produced cases and provide a reason to dismiss the self-build route. Of course, DinoPC’s range is constantly updated to support the latest technological developments and ensure consumers can own a cutting edge gaming PC. Today marks the release of Intel’s 7th generation processors codenamed Kaby Lake which isn’t a huge departure from Skylake barring some improved 4K media features and a frequency boost. Nevertheless, Kaby Lake-powered machines, especially with the higher tier processors work alongside a modern graphics card to provide a stellar gaming experience.
To coincide with the launch, DinoPC decided to send over the GT5 which utilises the Intel Core i5-7600K overclocked to 4.7GHz, 16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 2666MHz RAM and the ASUS TURBO GTX 1060 6GB graphics card. Not only that, the system is equipped with a 250GB Samsung 750 EVO SSD and powered by the 650-watt Corsair VS650 PSU. The omission of a secondary mechanical drive is a little unexpected but this can easily be resolved by modifying the base specification. Corsair’s 280mm liquid cooling solution is deployed to contend with the overclocked frequency while maintaining acceptable noise levels. This impressive selection of parts is housed in the stylish Corsair 460X RGB featuring tempered glass panels. Priced at £1249.00, the DinoPC GT5 is a considered purchase but it’s backed by a 5-year warranty and I’m expecting it to fare really well in a number of benchmarks.

Packaging and Accessories
The system is protected during transit by a large cardboard box and secured with relatively strong tape. Personally, I’d like to see some kind of precautionary labels instructing the courier to adopt a gentle approach because of tempered glass’ fragile nature. Additionally, it would be advantageous for the tape to surround the edges to improve the packaging’s structural rigidity. This isn’t a huge problem in the grand scheme of things and it’s unlikely that you’ll encounter any issues, either cosmetic or mechanical.
Once opened, it becomes clear that the main chassis box is cushioned by a generous supply of air bags. The bags help to hold the system in an upright position and prevent any damage from taking place.
Now that the system has been removed, it’s evidently clear how much attention went into the packaging process. DinoPC didn’t make any concessions to cut costs and used the air bags to support the system’s weight.
The main chassis box opts for extremely high-quality packaging via two remarkably thick flexible side supports and a plethora of foam inserts.
DinoPC covered the key components with a thick layer of bubble wrap which prevents pressure from being applied on the fittings during delivery. Not only that, the internal packaging brushes against the graphics card and makes a solid fixture so it doesn’t have any chance of breaking the PCI-E slot. Usually, the most important aspect when shipping a desktop PC is the internal padding and I’m glad to see DinoPC excel in this department.
The Quick Start Guide is really easy-to-understand and incredibly useful for those without previous experience using a desktop PC. In particular, the clear, concise explanation of commonly used technical terms helps novices to feel less intimidated by their new purchase. Please note, the review sample wasn’t bundled with any accessories or component packaging due to reviewers being inundated with boxes. Of course, the retail version will have all the extras to perform upgrades in the future.
