DLSS Finally Arrives in the Latest Starfield Beta Update

At long last DLSS has been officially added to Starfield, well sort of, as its only been added in a Beta update but the full release will be very soon.

Starfield Beta Update 1.8.83 DLSS

Last week it was made clear that DLSS would be arriving in Starfield two months after its original launch which is good news for owners of RTX series graphics cards looking to gain a few extra frames. The new Beta 1.8.83 update has been released which players can opt in to through Steam by doing the following steps:

  • 1.) Open your steam Library and navigate to Starfield
  • 2.) Right click on “Starfield” and select “Properties”
  • 3.) In the new properties pop-up window, select “Betas”
  • 4.) In the beta drop down to opt into, select “[beta]”
  • 5.) Wait for app to download new build and launch NOTE: The Starfield Steam Beta is a separate build of the game and will require a separate download. You will be able to continue with your latest save, but saves created in the Beta build will not work in the live game until the update is live.

The update includes support for DLSS Super Resolution, Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing (DLAA), NVIDIA Reflex and DLSS Frame Generation however Bethesda has noticed an issue with VSync and Frame Generation.
