It’s true that EA Spearhead and Nexon are currently working on the release of Need for Speed: Edge this year, but since that game is actually going to be a free-to-play MMO, that’s not what we’re going to focus on right now. Actually, Ghost Games has just confirmed that it is working on another Need for Speed game, which is scheduled to be released in 2017. The company did not reveal too many details, but one of its representatives has stated that the game will be built on the foundations laid with Need for Speed (2015), which can only mean good news for fans of the franchise.
“We are now building upon the foundations that have been laid with Need for Speed and delivering our next game in 2017.”
Moreover, Ghost Games will not simply vanish until next year, as it has expressed an interest in communicating with the community in order to make sure that the new project will meet the expectations of Need for Speed fans.
“That’s not to say that we’re going quiet between now and then… far from it. We’ll be working with our community and there will be multiple opportunities to bring many of you into the studio in the coming months to get your feedback on where we’re headed.”
It’s probably safe to say that EA’s E3 2016 conference will include a teaser trailer for this upcoming game, and we’ll definitely keep you posted once we find out more.
