DRAM Price Increases Have Paused in Recent Days
In recent weeks, several reports have pointed to rising prices for RAM memory and SSDs, driven by higher costs for DRAM and NAND Flash chips. Memory kit prices increased sharply, but over the past few days this upward trend appears to have paused, even though prices are still uneven across different retailers.
DRAM Price Increases Show Signs of a Short Pause
According to data observed by 3DCenter, prices for DDR5 memory—based on at least 20 different kits—have increased by only 0.1% compared to mid-January levels. The analysis was based on the lowest prices available on the market and suggests that the rapid price growth seen in recent weeks has slowed down, at least for now.
However, this pause does not mean that prices have reached their peak. Instead, it looks more like a temporary slowdown rather than a true reversal of the trend.
The current situation seems to offer a short break rather than real relief. Once new supply contracts for 2026 are finalized, memory prices could start rising again in the coming weeks. It is also worth noting that the data comes from the German market, although price trends there often match what happens in other regions.
For now, forecasts do not expect prices to improve anytime soon. Throughout 2026, shortages and unstable pricing are still expected for these key components, which remain in high demand for PCs and consumer electronics.
