Drop + The Lord of the Rings Introduce Gondor CSTM80 and CSTM65 Keyboards
DROP make some of the finest keyboards on the market today, I should know, I actually bought my son one a few years ago, and it’s still typing like it was brand new, it’s absolutely stunning. But that’s just a plain black one, because I’m cheap, had I known I could spend a little more for something as nice as this The Lords of Gondor edition, I’d have saved up, and bought it for myself.
There are two new additions to the DROP range, with the Gondor CSTM80 and CSTM65 keyboards, one with an 80% design and as you might have guessed, a 65% design. The keyboard features their new Gondor CSTM Decorative Cases, which DROP describes as “exclusive artwork from the South Kingdom.” It includes a magnetic swappable top cover and custom key caps that should satisfy the style demands of any LOTR fan.
Crowned with CSTM components fit for a King
Aside from the stunning Gondor design, these keyboards come equipped with the latest premium Gateron switches, customisable gasket mounting, case foam, case weights, a magnetic top plate, custom key caps, and PCBA-mounted stabilisers. The switches are the gorgeous Gateron KS-3 Milky Yellow Pro Switches, some of the nicest switches on the market today. Of course, this is all topped off with those officially licensed DCD Gondor Keycaps, which features a matching gray, white and black colour design, as well as some custom graphics.
A New CSTM King, Descended From Númenor
Why settle for a steward when you can have a king? Like the great realm of Gondor, your desktop kingdom deserves its rightful ruler—one that leads not with consternation, but with customization. Newly arrived from Númenor, the Drop + The Lord of the Rings Gondor CSTM80 king among mechanical keyboards. Like other descendants of our mighty CSTM line, this build has a game-changing feature in its blood: a magnetically detachable decorative top case. Here, it’s a never-before-seen Gondor CSTM80 Decorative Case, adorned with custom artwork depicting the White Tree of Gondor flanked by the Argonath, as well as few other icons from the South Kingdom.
Your Own Gondor Typing Outpost
Inspired by Gondor, Osgiliath, and Faramir, the faithful champion of both, comes the Drop + The Lord of the Rings Gondor CSTM65 Keyboard: a younger brother of its own type. “What Osgiliath is to Minas Tirith, what Faramir is to Boromir, this CSTM65 is to our CSTM80 of the same name.” says DROP, and this more compact design is just as feature packed as its big brother, but with a more compact design for those who prefer a little more space for their gaming mouse.
Price and Availability
Both of these keyboards come with a free 30-day return policy should you change your mind, albeit it needs to be returned in new and unused condition. Estimated ship date is June 30, 2025 PT. Payment will be collected at checkout. Cancellations are accepted up to 2 hours after checkout for in-stock items, or up until the pre-order ships. From my own experience with DROP keyboards though, I doubt many will want to return these keyboards, they’re going to be something pretty special.
