Dying Light: The Beast May Arrive on Nintendo Switch 2, Techland Hints at Possibility
Techland is one of the third-party publishers that has decided to support Nintendo Switch, releasing both the first and second installments of the Dying Light series. Could the story repeat itself with a future version of Dying Light: The Beast for Nintendo Switch 2?
The question was asked by Wccftech to Tymon Smektała, the director of the franchise, during an interview at the Summer Game Fest. The answer doesn’t confirm anything but leaves room for optimism: “I would love this to happen at some point, but nothing to announce at this time.”
Dying Light: The Beast on Switch 2
Essentially, Smektała preferred not to make a definitive statement. It’s understandable, after all. If Techland is indeed working on a port for the Nintendo Switch 2, it is unlikely they would confirm it in a casual interview, and they would probably prefer to make the announcement on a bigger stage, such as a Nintendo Direct.
In any case, remember that Dying Light: The Beast will arrive on August 22nd for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with versions also in development for PS4 and Xbox One, which, barring any unforeseen issues, should be available by the end of 2025.
The existence of these old-gen editions is actually great news for Switch 2 owners: considering that the hardware of the console has already demonstrated the ability to handle last-generation titles without any particular problems, a port of Dying Light: The Beast seems more than plausible. We’ll have to wait and see.
