EA Sports FC 25 Gets Its First Paid Battle Pass
Electronic Arts has just announced the arrival of the first paid Battle Pass for EA Sports FC 25. Players can now access it for 500,000 coins, which can be earned through gameplay, or 1,000 FC Points, costing around $10.
Another Microtransaction Added to a Game Already Full of Them
This Battle Pass contains 40 levels, offering rewards like exchangeable packs, boosts for increasing season points, and more. However, the biggest draw is the chance to unlock an exclusive version of Franck Ribery with 96 points, a player who spent most of his career at Bayern Munich.
The reaction from players has been divided, with some agreeing that the rewards, especially Ribery, are worth it. However, many believe that Ultimate Team already has enough microtransactions and didn’t need another form of monetization. Some are particularly upset that Ribery, a player who could make a big difference in the game, is only available through the Premium Pass.
It’s worth noting that EA had previously tested a free version of the Battle Pass, and the company has promised to closely monitor player feedback on this new feature.
