EasySMX New X05Pro Wireless Controller is a £27 Bargain
EasySMX isn’t a brand I know, but looking at them, they’ve been around a while as a budget-friendly peripheral maker, often delivering features that punch well above their price bracket. Their latest release, the X05Pro has finally gotten my attention. This new controller is an evolution of their X05 line, which they say has been designed using direct feedback from a pool of over 10,000 gamers worldwide to address the specific needs of PC and console enthusiasts.
The EasySMX X05Pro
The primary focus for the X05Pro appears to be refinement and tactile stealth. One of the most significant additions is the inclusion of redesigned quiet buttons. By utilising restructured mechanics and high-grade noise-dampening silicone, EasySMX has managed to significantly reduce the audible click of the face buttons without sacrificing tactile responsiveness. This is a welcome change for those gaming in shared environments, such as living rooms, and is actually a problem I have to face myself; I love my quiet peripherals for the sake of house hold peace and quiet.
Key Features of the X05Pro
- Refined Quiet Buttons: Restructured mechanism with damping silicone to reduce click noise while maintaining tactile feel.
- Dual-Stage Trigger Vibration: A 2+2 motor layout across triggers and grips for layered haptic feedback.
- Two-Stage Trigger Locks: Physical switches to toggle between long travel for racing and short travel for shooters.
- Precision 8-Way D-Pad: Metal dome switches and a recessed pivot for improved diagonal accuracy in fighting and retro games.
- Ergonomic Anti-Slip Grip: Sweat-resistant coating designed for stability and comfort during marathon sessions.
- Multi-platform Compatibility: Designed for use across PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile platforms.
Enhanced Feedback and Control
Under the hood, the X05Pro features a fully upgraded trigger system designed for immersion. It utilises a dual-stage trigger vibration system with a 2+2 motor structure, placing feedback in both the triggers and the grips to simulate nuanced sensations like engine braking or the kick of a firearm. To cater to different genres, the controller includes integrated two-stage trigger locks. This allows players to switch between a long travel distance for precision in racing games and a short-throw hair-trigger for rapid firing in competitive shooters. The D-pad has also seen an upgrade, featuring an 8-directional layout with metal dome switches to ensure accurate diagonal inputs for fighting games and retro titles.
What We Think
EasySMX is taking a very sensible approach with the X05Pro. Rather than trying to reinvent the wheel, they have listened to their community to fix the common bugbears of budget controllers, specifically noise and lack of trigger customisation. While I haven’t actually tired this controller, the combination of hall-effect-style refinements and ergonomic improvements suggests a high level of polish for the price point. For those who want a “Pro” experience without the triple-digit price tag, this looks like a very strong contender.
“From the very beginning, the X05Pro was shaped by our community,” said Robin, Product Manager at EasySMX. “We listened to the voices of more than 10,000 gamers who used the X05 and incorporated their feedback into every detail of the Pro version—from quieter buttons to more immersive triggers. This isn’t just an upgrade, it’s a controller built hand-in-hand with the people who matter most: gamers.”
The controller features an ergonomic anti-slip grip with a soft, sweat-resistant coating to ensure comfort during long sessions. It is being launched in standard Black and White, alongside a limited Aurora Purple edition for those who prefer a more striking aesthetic.
