ECS H67H2-M H67 Motherboard Review

Final Thoughts
The H67H2-M is a good board from ECS, but sadly it seems it’s nothing special and is more run of the mill. In terms of performance we didn’t see anything hugely impressive and in some cases the performance was lower than the other boards we looked at in comparison. Now we can’t blame ECS themselves as we feel it’s more of a H67 issue and therefore doesn’t leave ECS with a lot of room to play with, though we do feel that a few more SATA 3 (6Gbps) ports and USB 3.0 connectors could have been included for good measure.

One thing we do have to commend ECS on is the size and styling of the board, as it does seem they have managed to fit quite a nice amount of features onto a board of this size, and the styling is definitely unique to say the least. The fact that ECS claim the build quality of this board is second to none will also be an appealing feature to consumers wanting a rock solid board with stability in mind.

Sadly, as with most ECS products, they aren’t readily available everywhere, and we’re still yet to see them pop up in the UK’s main channels, but other countries shouldn’t have as much problem with sourcing this board. Due to this we can’t comment massively on price though the Foxconn packs a few more features and has a price point of £100, so take that into consideration.

In our eyes, this board is perfect for an all in one solution with no frills, and none of the extra bits that you don’t want, yet have to pay for and is perfect for a workstation PC or even a HTPC when coupled with a low power i3 processor, though we do wish that less time had been spent on the asthetics of the board, and that they had focussed a little bit more on the features.

Pros:

  • Cool colour scheme
  • Black Series motherboard
  • All solid capacitors
  • Dual Gigabit LAN with Teaming

Cons:

  • Memory only supports up to 1333MHz
  • Only two USB 3.0 connectors
  • Only two SATA 3 ports

We would like to thank ECS for supplying this sample
