ECS Z170-Claymore (LGA 1151) Motherboard Review

Audio Performance

Something I absolutely loved about the Z97i-Drone was the simply amazing audio quality. This offered a pleasing quality, but sadly it doesn’t quite stand up to what we have come to expect from Z170 motherboards.

16 Bit, 44KHz (DVD Quality)

16 Bit, 96KHz (Studio Quality)

24 Bit, 96KHz (Studio Quality)

DPC Audio Latency Analyser

I’m slightly disheartened here, when I reviewed the Z97i-Drone, the audio was something I shouted from the rooftops because it was that good. This model falls short of that with higher than expected audio latency, which can result in horrid lag in fast-paced games.
