Elden Ring: Nightreign Surpasses Sales Expectations
Elden Ring: Nightreign is a special spin-off of the famous main game. Instead of being an open-world RPG, it offers online matches with cooperative play (though it can also be played solo) and combines elements of roguelite and battle royale gameplay.
It may not have sold as much as the original game (otherwise we would know), but Nightreign is still considered a success, according to Kadokawa, FromSoftware’s parent company.
Kadokawa’s Statement on Elden Ring: Nightreign
In its latest financial report, Kadokawa stated: “FromSoftware’s ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN has performed well beyond initial expectations.”
In another report, the parent company mentioned that Nightreign “exceeded expectations” in its gaming segment. However, Kadokawa did not reveal exact sales numbers or future sales projections.
The company also noted that it aims for further sales growth for Elden Ring: Nightreign, the original Elden Ring, and its DLC — Shadow of the Erdtree.
Regarding additional content for Nightreign, Kadokawa confirmed that FromSoftware is currently developing the DLC (expected by March 2026). The company is also working on the Tarnished Edition of Elden Ring (planned for 2026 on Nintendo Switch 2) and a new title called The Duskbloods (also planned for 2026).
The Nightreign DLC will introduce new playable characters and additional bosses, expanding the game’s content even further.
In other news, Junya Ishizaki, director of Elden Ring Nightreign, claims to have defeated all of the game’s bosses solo and without using any relics to encourage players that a solo run is achievable.
