Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition Delayed on Nintendo Switch 2
Bandai Namco has released an official statement announcing that Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition has been delayed. While there is still no exact release date, the company confirmed a new release window for the upcoming edition, which will bring the game to Nintendo Switch 2.
At the moment, all that is known is that the new edition of the famous open-world action RPG will now be released in 2026. More details about the specific release period are expected later.
Reason Behind the Delay
The main reason for the delay appears to be the need to improve several technical aspects of the game, particularly its performance and other elements that have not yet reached the desired quality level.
Originally, Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition was planned to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 sometime in 2025. However, it seems that FromSoftware and the publisher have decided to adjust their plans. Players will now have to wait a bit longer for a more polished version of the game.
This new edition will bring the complete Elden Ring experience to Nintendo’s next console. It includes both the original game and the large Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, offering players many hours of gameplay and content on the Nintendo Switch 2.
Concerns about the game’s performance on Switch 2 had already surfaced after early public demos. Reports suggested serious performance issues in handheld mode.
