Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition with Extra Content Coming to Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PS5, and Xbox
During the latest Nintendo Direct, FromSoftware surprised fans by revealing a new game, The Duskbloods, exclusive to the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. However, this wasn’t the only announcement they made. The company also confirmed that Elden Ring will be coming to the new console in a special version called the “Tarnished Edition.”
Details on Elden Ring Extra Content
As expected, Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition will feature the base game along with its DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree. But that’s not all—it will also come with some extra content. According to FromSoftware’s official Twitter account, the new edition will include four new pieces of armor and the ability to change the appearance of Torrente, the spiritual steed, offering three different types in total.
The exciting part is that these extra features won’t be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2 version. They will also be available for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.
Is the Content Free?
While the details were shared in Japanese, and translations might vary slightly, it is not entirely clear whether these extra additions will be free. Based on the description, it seems unlikely that there will be a charge, as these are not large-scale additions. However, this has not been officially confirmed, so it’s still uncertain.
As of now, Elden Ring has sold over 28 million copies, with a notable rise from 25 million in June 2024—adding 3 million copies in less than a year.
