Electronic Arts Confirms Split Fiction is a Huge Success, Already Selling 4 Million Copies
Electronic Arts and Hazelight have confirmed that Split Fiction, the cooperative action-adventure game launched on March 6, has sold 4 million copies.
This game has become one of the company’s biggest launches of the year. In their latest financial report, EA called the release a “huge success”, noting that the game sold over a million copies in just the first 48 hours.
Another Success for Hazelight
On social media, Hazelight’s team expressed their excitement: “44 MILLION SOLD!!!! So many of you have picked up Split Fiction already, it’s amazing… Seeing the fun you have with our game and the love you show for Mio, Zoe and each other warms our hearts here at Hazelight And so many hot dogs made…” This was a reference to a recurring humorous moment in the game.
Split Fiction, directed by Josef Fares, continues Hazelight’s trend of cooperative adventures, following A Way Out (2018) and It Takes Two (2021). After reaching 4 million copies sold in just two months, it will be interesting to see if it can reach the impressive numbers of its predecessor, It Takes Two, which has sold over 23 million units since its 2021 launch. For now, Split Fiction is set to release on the new Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5.
