Emprex Keyboards Review

So there we have it, a range of three budget friendly keyboards from Emprex, each of which has performed better than I expected, some better than others but overall I can’t really fault them given their price range and targeted uses.

The gaming keyboard was a pleasant surprise, while I wouldn’t say go out and buy this as a main gaming keyboard, it is worth pointing out that for under £10 it does sport a few features that are a welcome addition for any PC gamer, such as its anti-ghosting and Windows lock keys, but even if your just after a cheap day to day keyboard, or your the kind of person who somehow keeps breaking them (much like my dad) then this is perfect as a cheap solution for those on a tight budget that need that little bit extra for their money.

The slim line keyboard was really good too, it’s a great replacement for those that prefer the feel of the keys you find on most laptop keyboards, its really easy to type on and it’s style looks pretty good too, but I would recommend you seek out a different mouse if your planning on doing any gaming.

But the winner of the show is easily the media centre keyboard, it’s trackball mouse, multimedia keys and general design are spot on and make this a really good deal for the money, so much so that I’ll be grabbing one for my self for use as my multimedia keyboard, given that my desktop one is a wired gaming keyboard, it means I don’t need to leave the couch to check emails, load up a movie or play some music.

So overall then I hope we’ve shown here that you really don’t have to spend a fortune on a keyboard when it comes to gaming, a casual alternative for the office or even a multimedia setup, while sure you can get much better keyboards, you can expect to pay a lot more for them, but for those of you who don’t have the budget to justify a £50.00 keyboard, there are plenty of options out there, these keyboards aren’t quite up to the performance of our editors choice award, but given their amazing low cost and solid performance, I am happy to award them our Bang for Buck award.

As a child still in my 30's (but not for long), I spend my day combining my love of music and movies with a life-long passion for gaming, from arcade classics and retro consoles to the latest high-end PC and console games. So it's no wonder I write about tech and test the latest hardware while I enjoy my hobbies!
