While not as fancy as some of their rivals such as the Nest, it’s still a very nice looking unit. It looks fairly traditional for a thermostat really, which means it should easily replace your existing one. It has a display on the top section, with a small ventilated panel at the bottom so it can monitor temperatures and other vitals. It comes with a pair of batteries for backup, as well as two mounting screws. However, primary power will be provided by your boiler Com and 230V wires as is standard for most UK boilers.
The matte white finish should easily blend in with most decor too. Again, it’s fairly “classic” looking, and just a clean and smart looking device. Again, this does need to be paired with your Energenie hub. However, it can also pair up with your smart plugs, radiator valves and other Energenie products. For example, it won’t tinker with the radiators if the heading is off. Or it could turn on all your heating and your radiators at once should you tell it to.
On one side, there’s a set of basic controls, allowing you to turn things on/off, or change the master temperature.
On the rear, it has a wall mounting bracket as well as a simple battery compartment.
Simply remove the backplate, and you can see a pair of connections on the small backplate.
If you look behind your existing thermostat, you should see a power and a COM cable. These need to be wired into the Energenie hub. Please check with your boiler specifications and with Energenie for compatibility.
