Enermax Aurora Micro Wireless Keyboard Review

When I heard that I was going to be testing a wireless keyboard, I can’t say I was all that excited about the prospect and I certainly wasn’t expecting anything like the Aurora. The level of build quality and detail that has gone into its design is fantastic. The Aurora features many little style touches such as little chrome strips and logos, high quality print, a slick looking brushed aluminium finish and clean cut angles that really make it stand out. Which is a good thing too, as I know a lot of people who love their home cinema setups and invest a lot of money in finding the right look and feel for their viewing environment. Having a good looking keyboard is just as important as a good performing keyboard, especially if its one that’s going to be spending time in your living room for the majority of its life.

The materials used in its construction also make it quite heavy and durable, this is of course another good thing, especially if your like me and would keep this down the side of the couch between uses. Good build quality means its less likely to get broken should someone knock it off the side of a coffee table or your chair.

Its performance was superb too, I would even go as far as saying its unmatched, especially within this price range. Having tried about half a dozen wireless keyboards in my own setups over the years I can honestly say I’ve never used one that was as nice as the Aurora. It’s a premium product from start to finish and that goes a long way to justify the £50 price tag.

Its always nice to not only test a great product, but also one that I struggle to find fault with. Sure it could be a little cheaper, but that much can be said about a lot of things. While its not the best keyboard in the world for gaming, its ideal for those that love to kick back with their feet up, browse the web and watch movies on the big screen, something I enjoy doing my self and its why I am happy to award it with our eTeknix Editors Choice Award.
