Enermax Liqtech 120mm & 240mm AIO Water Cooler Review

Both these coolers are priced competitively, the suggested retail price for the Enermax Liqtech 120x is £79.90 while the Liqtech 240 has a suggested retail price of £99.90. Obviously that’s still a lot of money, but in terms of performance and while being compared to rival brands such as Corsair and Antec, this is very good value for money indeed. Scan.co.uk currently have stock of the 120x and I have been told that the 240 will be available very shortly and Scan as well as other major retailers.
There is very little I need to say about the Liqtech coolers, in short they’re the best all in one water cooling units I’ve ever tested, actually they’re the best CPU coolers of any kind that I’ve ever tested! Their performance is nothing short of incredible and in our load tests I found them to be better than expected, to the point where I had to re-test them just to make sure there wasn’t some other factor interfering with the results, but the numbers checked out and I’m simply stunned with the performance seen today.
Build quality is nothing short of exceptional, the radiator is the best quality all in one unit I’ve seen so far, it feels really robust and the added bonus is that both the 120mm and 240mm radiators look superb. The pump design is really nice too and also features flawless build quality. The mounting screws, brackets and other fittings are all of a very high quality and it’s clear that Enermax have put a lot of attention into the little details to make this feel like a special product.
Price wise they are expensive products, but the old saying of “you get what you pay for” has never been more true than it is today. Both offer unmatched performance, class leading build quality and style that would look great in virtually any system build. If you’re willing to pay good money for a CPU cooler, the least you can ask for is that it’s a good investment and that’s exactly what Enermax deliver on their new Liqtech coolers.
As for our results, I saw two really interesting things within my testing. The first being that the 120mm radiator favoured better in our non-overclocked benchmarks. So if you’re just wanting to keep your system cool and quiet, while not being too fussed about overclocking, then the Liqtech 120X is certainly the way to go. However, if you’re wanting to dial everything up to 11 and you really do want to overclock, I saw much better results from the 240mm radiator in these tests, which one is ideal for you will obviously be your own choosing. I am more than happy to award both the 120x and 240 with our eTeknix Editors Choice Award.
- Class leading performance
- Flawless build quality
- Robust and stylish design
- High quality fans included
- They’re not cheap, but you do get what you pay for.
“If you’re on the market for a high quality, high performance CPU cooler then Enermax’s new Liqtech range has a lot to offer. The 120X is ideal for systems that are short on space, while the 240 is an ideal choice for high-end overclocking. What we do know, is that no matter which of the two radiators you choose, you will not be disappointed and their performance has set a new benchmark that will prove difficult to beat.”
Thank you Enermax for providing us with this sample.
