Enermax Ostrog GT Chassis Review

The interior features a continuous black paint job that give the chassis a nice premium look, Enermax were also nice enough to pre-fit the motherboard standoffs and that will certainly save some time when we install our system. There is a huge CPU cooler cut-out on the back plate and some simple cable management cut-outs to the right of that, nothing fancy but they should help keep things nice and tidy. There is a tiny hard drive dock on the bottom center of the chassis that supports two 2.5″ drives and this frees up space in the 3.5″ docks on the right.

with room for eight hard drives in a 4 + 4 bay arrangement there is plenty of room for storage, the middle bay can be easily removed thanks to two clips and this will allow for some extremely long graphics cards to be installed. That totals up to 8 x 3.5″ drives + 2 x 2.5″ drives which is more than most anyone will ever need.

In the back we have a pre-installed 120mm exhaust fan, which is recessed into the chassis and this should allow extra room for any bulky 120mm fan / radiator setups. Finally we see that each of the expansion slots come fitted with a reusable cover and standard chassis screws.

The top of the chassis features a simple mesh dust filter but the nice thing here is that its held on with magnets, this allows you to quickly remove it for maintainance, then quickly reinstall it afterwards.

Around the back you can see there are a fair few cables from the front I/O panel, but there can be easily tidied up later. There are plenty of cable tie down loops behind the motherboard and this should help us keep things in order once we have all our components installed.

One of the best features here however is that the chassis features a huge ammount of clearance behind the motherboard, extending as much as 1.5″ in some places.
