EpicGear is one of the cooler gaming peripherals manufacturers on the market, having a great range of products that have proven successful with gamers at home, as well as in the eSports scene. Their latest mouse, the ZorA, was developed with the help of pro gamers, who aided in everything from designing the symmetrical shape of the mouse, the weight tuning system and the choice of sensor.
“ZorA is equipped with an IR LED sensing solution that is driven by the EpicGear-tuned gaming precision firmware to deliver superior gaming accuracy and stability. ZorA is also dynamically programmable from button assignment, DPI, gaming profiles and USB report rate via dedicated GUI software.” – Epic Gear
Equipped with a high-performance 3500 DPI IR LED sensor, as well as firmware that was specially tuned for optimal sensor performance, excellent tracking speed, and acceleration, and more, we’re expecting pretty solid performance from the Zora. It claims to have a bit of eSports pedigree and that’s something we’ll be expecting to see in our sensor performance tests.
This mouse may look pretty standard at first glance, but it’s really packing a few nice features you’ll be eager to check out. First up, the weight and balance system, which you can see demonstrated in the video below.
Next up, we have the lock-down, which ensures you’re not swapping DPI and profiles when you don’t need to; a simple but effective system.
Packaging & Accessories
The box is very nicely designed, with a stylish Tron-like image of the mouse on the front.
Around the back, a quick spec list, but nothing we haven’t already covered here.
The box opens out, allowing you to see the mouse, as well as showing you some of the extra features, like the weight tuning system and the tuned sensor.
There’s certainly not a lot in the way of extras in the box, just quick start guide and the mouse, but it’s not like we need anything else anyway.
