EVGA X79 Classified E799 Motherboard showcased

EVGA wasn’t present at this years Computex event in the LGA 2011 motherboard show case section and even though EVGA was late to the party for that it seems its LGA 2011 classified motherboard will be ready well in time for the release of Intel’s upcoming processors. As you may know EVGA is one of the most prestigious motherboard manufacturers for that high end segment of the market which incorporates enthusiastic overclockers and hardcore gamers. At the recent GeForce LAN 6 event hosted by NVIDIA, EVGA used the spotlight of the event to unveil its Classified E799 motherboard based off the new upcoming Intel platform.

The board is very spacious and aimed at those looking to overclock with liquid nitrogen since it has very large spacing between all the key components of the motherboard allowing for easy insulation against condensation. CPU power delivery is controlled by top grade VRM powered by two 8 pin EPS power connectors for maximum power delivery. The 24 pin motherboard connector is right angled which is ideal for this scenario as it will make the motherboard less cluttered when attempting to prepare for an extreme overclock. There is support for one set of Quad Channel memory so there are four DIMM slots.

The board does support NVIDIA’s prestigious 4 Way SLI technology so this board will definitely be aimed at those looking to break some records. Expansion slots include four PCI-Express 3.0 x16 (two are x16 capable, all four are x8 capable, depending on the way they’re populated), and one PCI-Express x16 (electrical x4). The board is built on the XL-ATX form-factor, and requires cases with at least 10 expansion slot bays. Storage connectivity includes two SATA 6 Gb/s and four SATA 3 Gb/s ports internally, and two eSATA ports driven by a third-party controller. There are 10 USB 3.0 ports driven by numerous VLI-made controllers, eight on the rear panel, two by header. 8+2 channel HD audio with optical SPDIF output, two gigabit Ethernet connections, Bluetooth, and EVBot connections make for the rest of it.

As this EVGA board is aimed at overclockers expect a substantial number of overclocking features to come with this board. It will launch along with the rest of the line up, which includes the EVGA X79 FTW (E777) and EVGA X79 SLI (E775), later this year.
