Expect Nvidia GTX 1080 Reviews Next Week!

Expect Nvidia GTX 1080 Reviews Next Week! After revealing the GTX 1080 on Friday, Nvidia let the world know that the cards would become available come May 27th. With most releases, the cards and reviews tend to be released on the same day at the same time. Sometimes, the reviews will precede the release, which is what is reportedly happening with the GTX 1080. According to some sources, the GTX 1080 reviews will go live in less than 10 days on May 17th.

Despite Nvidia revealing a lot of the GTX 1080 specifications like CUDA core count and clock speeds, there is still a lot of unknowns at this point. Chief among them are the number of TMUs, ROPs, double precision CUDA cores and other GP104 information. We can also expect to get a lot more Pascal related information and most importantly, how well the architecture and GP104 in particular, do in real-world usage.Another reason for Nvidia to allow benchmarks and reviews

Another reason for Nvidia to allow benchmarks and reviews early is to build up hype and anticipation. May 27th is awfully close to AMD’s Polaris launch and by allowing reviews out a day early, Nvidia may be able to hold onto some extra customers by showing off their cards early.

With the Pascal Editor’s day come and gone now, we can expect that select reviewers already have the cards and others like us may be receiving them shortly. We may soon be seeing a number of leaks benchmarks so stay tuned!
