Elon Musk took to Twitter to welcome Kenny Handkrammer to Tesla Motors today. The former Red Bull F1 team’s chief mechanic will work with Tesla to “revolutionize servicing mainstream cars”.
Telsa’s new battery swap stations can fully swap in a fully charged battery and have them back on the road in less than three minutes. Tesla is looking to draw upon Kenny’s experience in the F1 to streamline the swaps and make things more efficient for both drivers and the swap stations. It will be interesting to see what Telsa adopts from the world of F1 to speed things up.
