So I’ve been playing Fallout 4 for a few days now and the game does seem to suffer from a few bugs here and there, some of which are funny while others can potentially hinder the overall gaming experience. However, what isn’t a bug is the annoying dialogue system that was implemented by Bethesda into this new title, a system that’s clumsy and limited to say the least, as it offers very little information to the player. To be more specific, when your character is engaged in a conversation with an NPC, your answer choices are composed of a few words at best while the character’s answer is much more elaborate and sometimes unexpected.
Fortunately, we’ve recently discovered a very useful mod that completely replaces the game’s conversation UI with a simpler interface that shows dialogue options in a list. Those of you who are familiar with Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas will instantly recognize this system, which is much more detailed and easier to use via numbered keys. Furthermore, apart from simplifying things, the mod also forces the game to display full lines of what your character is about to say.
“This mod makes the game display the full lines of what your character is going to say in conversation, instead of just a paraphrase. Thanks to shadwar’s work, it also revamps the interface so that the game will now display dialogue options in a list and use the number keys for input, instead of clustering all of them together and forcing you to use the arrow keys.”
The mod was created by Shadwar and Cirosan, and you can download it yourself right here.
