Far Cry 3, Blood Dragon, and Primal Will Receive a 60 FPS Patch on PS5 and Xbox

Far Cry 3, Blood Dragon, and Primal Will Receive a 60 FPS Patch on PS5 and Xbox

Ubisoft continues its initiative to update its console catalog by adding performance upgrades that unlock 60 FPS support on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The next titles to receive this treatment are reportedly Far Cry 3 Classic, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Classic, and Far Cry Primal.

The hint came directly from Ubisoft’s social media accounts, which posted a riddle made of emojis. Each line featured an emoji representing one of the games — a palm tree for Far Cry 3, a dragon with a blood drop for Blood Dragon, and a gorilla for Primal — accompanied by the number “6” and another symbol clearly referencing 60 FPS.

Ubisoft’s Emoji Tease Leaves Little Doubt

The message was quite clear, and Ubisoft’s replies to fan comments confirmed what most suspected. The only mystery that remains is when these updates will be released. While no specific dates were included, the tone of the posts suggests official news is coming very soon.

These updates will bring the entire modern Far Cry series to 60 FPS on the latest consoles — a welcome change for fans who enjoy smoother gameplay and improved responsiveness.

The mentioned games were essentially the last of the modern-era Far Cry titles that had not yet received a 60 FPS upgrade. Ubisoft had already released patches for Far Cry 5 in 2023, followed by New Dawn in early 2025, and Far Cry 4 in April of last year.

This move continues Ubisoft’s broader effort to refresh its older titles for current-gen hardware. Other games like The Division have also benefited from similar updates, with its 60 FPS patch arriving just this past December.
