Far Cry 4 Now Runs at 60 FPS on PS5 with Latest Update
In a better late than never move, Ubisoft has just released an update for Far Cry 4, and now the game runs at 60 fps on PS5. This is great news for fans of the series and could be a good reason to replay the game.
Before this update, Far Cry 4 ran on PS5 with the same performance as the PS4 version, meaning the framerate was locked at 30 fps. The new patch removes this limit and allows the game to run at up to 60 fps, making the gameplay much smoother, especially for a first-person shooter.
On Xbox Series X, the game has been running at 60 fps since 2021, thanks to Microsoft’s FPS Boost feature. Even though PS5 owners had to wait much longer for this update, it’s still good news and, in some ways, surprising. After all, Far Cry 4 was released in 2014, well before the PS5 launched.
Last year, Ubisoft also released a similar patch for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, a 2015 game. Like Far Cry 4, it received 60 fps support on both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, as well as the ability to reach 4K resolution on PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X. Maybe we’ll see similar updates for other games in the future.
