We have managed to get some more details from Intel about the new Sandy Bridge-E models. These are the Core i7-3960X, Core i7-3930X and the Core i7-3820.
The best of these is of course the i7-3960X which features six cores clocked at 3.30 GHz with Turbo set to an impressive 3.9 GHz. It will have 15 MB of cache and the multiplier will be unlocked as this is part of Intel’s Extreme Edition.
The second one, the Core i7-9330 is also part of the Intel Extreme Edition and is also a 6-core but this time clocked at 3.2 GHz with Turbo set to 3.8 GHz. It has only 12 MB of cache with the same TDP rated at 130W.
The final one is a quad core, the i7-3820, which is clocked at 3.6 GHz and Turbo set at 3.9 GHz. This will not feature an unlocked multiplier and only has 10 MB of cache while still keeping the same 130W TDP.
All 3 models should support quad-channel memory and hopefully they are still on target to be released in Q4 of 2011.
