Fisher-Price Launch a Working Version of its Iconic Toy Phone

I daresay that many of you reading this probably owned a Fisher-Price ‘Chatter’ telephone at some point in your childhood. In fact, being a (pretty well established) adult now with a kid of my own, not only did I have one of these growing up, but I also bought one for my son (albeit I have no idea where it currently resides among his mountain of toys). – If the mere mention of this has, however, thrown up more than a few nostalgic feelings towards this, then there might be some excellent news for you as Fisher-Price has formally released a working version that you can (sort of – depending on where you are) buy right now!

Fisher-Price Release Working ‘Chatter’ Telephone!

We should note that although seemingly scaled to completely replicate the size of the original toy, this new release from Fisher-Price is, for all intents and purposes, a fully functional phone device. Now, as you might expect, you can’t simply plug this into your socket in the wall and start making and receiving calls. It does, instead, work by hooking up to a BlueTooth connection (such as on your smartphone).

However, with this connection in place, you can both call people (Yes! using the rotary dial), receive calls on it, and both speak and hear from the now seemingly ancient receiver.

Features

  • Your first “mobile” phone is now a real mobile phone!
  • Easily pairs to your smart phone with Bluetooth® wireless technology
  • Intuitive interface and an intuitive face
  • Comes with colors, numbers, wobbly eyes, and a cord for recharging
  • Press the speakerphone button to chat hands, knees and toes-free

Shut Up and Take My Money!

Now, with all this in mind, you might now be frothing at the mouth wanting to buy one of these for yourself. I’m tempted myself. Albeit I know for a fact that if I did my son would probably end up racking me up a £1,000 phone bill as he accidentally calls up the talking clock in Australia (or to enquire which way the water spins when flushing the toilet).

However, if you do want to order this, this is quite a notable caveat (at least at the time of writing). And that is that this Fisher-Price ‘Chatter’ telephone is currently only available to order in the USA. For $60, however, I can see this being a very popular stocking filler with Christmas fast approaching. Therefore, if you do want to learn more, you can check out the website via Bestbuy at the link here!
