According to insider NateTheHate, known for reliably leaking game information, Microsoft might bring several first-party exclusives to PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2. This would mark a significant shift in the company’s multi-platform strategy. At least two games are expected to launch on Sony and Nintendo’s consoles by the end of the year, with more to follow in the future.
Beyond already confirmed releases like Doom: The Dark Ages, Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle, and The Outer Worlds 2, Microsoft is reportedly preparing to release Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PS5 and Switch 2.
Additionally, Nintendo’s new console could also receive Sea of Thieves and Hi-Fi Rush, games unavailable on the current Switch model. Notably, Hi-Fi Rush was recently classified for Switch, hinting at an official announcement soon.
NateTheHate stated that Microsoft aims to release its major exclusives on competitor platforms to recover development costs and boost profits. This aligns with the company’s broader strategy of moving away from traditional console concepts, focusing instead on cloud gaming and the value offered by Game Pass.
