Football Manager 2018 Takes The Depth to a Whole New Level

How many hours have you invested in this game?

Football Manager 2018 is coming and for many that represents one of the best value for money titles out there. I have seriously seen people with 1000+ hours on each year’s interaction of this title. Don’t get me wrong, I understand the attraction. My management credentials in

Don’t get me wrong, I understand the attraction. My management credentials in Football Manager has seen me do a much better job than Steve Bruce in getting Aston Villa back to the premier league. It has also seen me win the Champions League with St Johnstons.

With the level of depth and general realism, it’s a great franchise. It was also, one of the first mainstream titles to really go for the Linux market.

Many of the games most hardcore fans appreciate just how deep the rabbit hole goes in regards to details. The team at Football Manager painstakingly scout pretty much all leagues through the world to build a reasonable assessment of players often with remarkable accuracy.

Don’t believe me? Here’s a number of players that Football Manager predicted would come good.

  • Wayne Rooney
  • Romelu Lukaku
  • Neymar
  • Vincent Kompany
  • Sergio Aguero

So as you can tell, they’re pretty good at scouting for a video game developer.

For some, Lego representations of football stadiums are far more interesting than the game. Personally, I think both are great.

So what can we expect?

In a report via PcGamesN, Football Manager 2018 is set to bring tactics and scouting to a whole new level.

Updates will include:

  • A new graphical engine.
  • New stadium presentations.
  • Significant improvements in tactics.
  • Improved AI (goalkeepers will still undoubtedly look awful).

Of all the changes, however, the main focus Sega wished to emphasize with that they have built on the data analysis aspect which was introduced in 2017. Many fans felt that this was a great addition, particularly for the stat nuts, but didn’t go deep enough.

Well, your prayers have been answered.

Football Manager 2018 is set to release on November 10th, 2018.
