Force Hax – The GTA 5 Cheating Tool is Shutdown!

Take-Two Interactive is not a particularly popular company at the moment. Since it shut down one of the most popular modding tools last week, even threatening content creators with legal action, the feedback has been a bit negative, to say the least. Well, it’s time for a good news story as Take-Two has officially shut down the main cheating tool for GTA 5 online.

What is Force Hax?

Force Hax was the ‘go-to’ tool for cheating/modding in GTA 5 Online. The tool allowed users to spawn piles of jets, flying saucers, all vehicles and even dump money for the poor. Ok, so the latter wasn’t too bad, but still, many people who used this exploit were generally disruptive to the online experience.

What form would the disruption take? How about having 20 planes dumped on your head? Or have your vehicle summarily exploded? Better still have someone teleport to your location and repeatedly kill you!

By this point, you can tell how I feel about this tool in GTA 5. I have nothing against the modding community, in fact, they often made GTA 5 a lot more exciting. We recently reported how someone had effectively totally remade Terminator 2 using only the GTA 5 Director tool. Is that doesn’t take your fancy, how about the Rick and Morty Mod? I loved the modding in GTA 5 and think that Take-Two has seriously miscalculated the removal/banning of the modding tools. That being said, I’m very pleased that cheating is gone!

Force Hax

Pennies from heaven. GTA 5 style.

If you don’t have a problem with modders, why such a problem with cheaters?

It mostly just comes down to the fact that most ‘cheaters’ in GTA 5 are disruptive trolls. They don’t play the game or to enhance their own experience (an excuse often used), they play to lessen the experience of others.

Earning money and progressing in GTA 5 is hard! That’s why they sell those ridiculous credit cards for in-game cash. Yes, I’m not going to deny, I’ve had a money dump in GTA 5 online and it was a massive boost etc., but at the end of the day, it’s cheating.

The person that gives you cash today will be terrorising you tomorrow. As such, although I am delighted that Force Hax has been shut down, it frankly should have happened a lot sooner.

If you visit Force Hax’s website, all you will find is a sad little disclaimer confirming the shutdown. In addition to likely avoid any legal action, any money they make is also now going to charity.

Sure, I might miss the easy money that those who used the cheating app brought and the excellent mods people created. However, if it means I might be able to actually enjoy GTA 5 online again, it might just be worth it.
