Fortnite Changes V-Bucks Prices While Save the World Becomes Free
Epic Games has announced major changes for Fortnite Chapter 7. The updates affect several parts of the game, including microtransactions and one of its main modes. According to the company, the adjustments are necessary to increase revenue, which is why the price structure for V-Bucks is being modified.
The price of the bundles themselves will remain the same, but the amount of V-Bucks players receive will be reduced.
V-Bucks Packs Now Give Fewer Coins
With the new changes, players will get fewer V-Bucks when purchasing bundles:
- $8.99 pack: reduced from 1,000 to 800 V-Bucks
- $22.99 pack: reduced from 2,800 to 2,400 V-Bucks
- $36.99 pack: reduced from 5,000 to 4,500 V-Bucks
- $89.99 pack: reduced from 13,500 to 12,500 V-Bucks
Another change affects direct purchases. Buying V-Bucks in smaller amounts will now cost $0.99 for every 50 V-Bucks, whereas previously the same amount cost $0.50.
Battle Pass prices will also change slightly. All Battle Pass versions, including premium editions that include a 25-level boost, will cost 200 fewer V-Bucks. However, the main Battle Pass will now reward only 800 V-Bucks instead of the previous amount.
Fortnite Crew subscribers will also see a reduction in their monthly rewards, receiving 800 V-Bucks per month instead of 1,000.
Another major announcement concerns Fortnite Save the World, the cooperative PvE mode that originally launched as a paid experience.
Epic Games confirmed that this mode will soon become free to play, allowing more players to access it without purchasing the game. This change marks a big shift for the mode, which has been paid since its original release.
With these adjustments to V-Bucks pricing and the move to make Save the World free, Epic Games appears to be making significant changes to Fortnite’s economy and accessibility as the game moves into its next chapter.
