When Fortnite Chapter 6’s OG mode initially launched, there were no bots included. However, Epic Games introduced this feature in the final hours of the launch, and dataminers have since uncovered how many AI-controlled players are present in each match.
According to data revealed by osirion_gg, the number of bots in OG mode matches is determined by the player’s SBMM (Skill-Based Matchmaking) value. In simple terms, the more skilled a player is, the fewer bots they will encounter in a match.
For players with lower skill levels or those who are new to Fortnite, lobbies can contain up to 90 bots—an impressive number when considering that each match is made up of 100 participants.
For players at an intermediate skill level, the number of bots in a match varies. In these lobbies, bot counts fluctuate between 10 and 90 depending on various factors. Finally, the most skilled players will find themselves in matches populated by only 10 bots.
This means that while bots appear in unranked matches at all skill levels, the number of bots adjusts according to player expertise.
