Forza Horizon 5 Update Brings AMD FSR 2.2, Nvidia DLSS 2.4 & Ray Tracing Support!

It has been nearly a year now since Forza Horizon 5 was officially released, and, with this in mind, I daresay that any of you who were going to play it have probably already done so and likely moved on to something else. – Even I can attest that while it was fun, it didn’t really offer much in terms of long-term enjoyability.

For those of you with newer Nvidia or AMD graphics cards, however, perhaps it is worth a return as following a new blog post from the developers, Forza Horizon 5 will officially be applying a new update tomorrow which will add support for not just AMD FSR 2.2 and Nvidia DLSS 2.4, but also graphical setting enhancements and additional improvements to DirectX 12 based ray tracing!

Yes, put simply, for the right system Forza Horizon 5 is set to get prettier, and, all going well, running a lot smoother too!

Forza Horizon 5 – Update Incoming!

As part of the official blog post (and paraphrasing just a little, PlayGround Studios has confirmed the following optimisations users can expect:

“In this update, we have refreshed the Video options to allow further customization and improvements to the anti-aliasing of the game. – Building on the positive reception for TAA, we’ve introduced two new technologies for temporal upscaling:

AMD FidelityFX™ Super Resolution 2.2 | AMD

We have incorporated AMD’s latest upscaling technology: FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.2 – In Performance mode it can construct a 4K rendered image from a 1080p frame buffer, allowing higher performance at higher resolutions. – This technology can be used on all PC graphics cards including AMDNVIDIA and Intel.

Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) Super Resolution | NVIDIA

We have incorporated NVIDIA’s DLSS Super Sampling technology, providing AI-powered resolution upscaling. – In Performance mode it will generate a 4K rendered image from a 1080p frame buffer, improving framerates at higher resolutions. – DLAA uses AI-powered technology to anti-alias a native resolution image at high quality. – DLSS Super Resolution is available on all NVIDIA RTX graphics cards.

We have added two new settings for ray tracing quality. Ultra and Extreme settings allow player car reflections to be rendered in Free Roam and Races. – This also allows ray tracing to be enabled in Photo Mode for both the player vehicle and AI cars.”

The update should be set to arrive tomorrow and presuming you would like to learn more about it (alongside newly updated system requirements for these new features), you can check out the official post via the link here!
